We are now accepting applications for our 2019 programs.

  • Applications for the Winter Program are due by November 15th, 2018
  • Applications for the Summer Program are due by March 15th, 2019

Winter 2019 Program dates: January 28 – April 12, 2019
Summer 2019 Program dates: 
June – August, 2019

Who We Are Serving

  • Young adults between the ages of 18 and 26 with learning disabilities.
  • Young adults who are transitioning from high school to higher education, taking a break from their educational pursuits, or focusing on workforce skills.
  • Young adults who:
    • Possess a high school diploma or will be earning one prior to the start of the program;
    • Have a documented learning disability;
    • Are motivated to be a part of the program;
    • Are responsive to direction and able to work at a consistent pace.

*We cannot accept adjudicated (court-mandated) youth.

Program

  • Training:
    • 2 weeks of training before internship including:
      • Appropriate etiquette & communication in the workplace
      • Roleplaying with drama for interviews & effective workplace skills
      • Presentations from workforce experts
      • Yoga & mindfulness
      • Highly individualized support, with a student : staff ratio of 5:1
    • Friday trainings during Internship
      • Reinforce skills learned in training & roleplay areas for effective workplace performance and improvement.
  • Mentoring:
    • Goal setting before program & monitoring of goals during program
    • Supporter and liaison between intern, employer and BroadFutures
  • Internships:
    • 7-11 week PAID INTERNSHIPS at professional offices
    • 20 hours a week, Monday through Thursday
  • Cost:
    • Winter program — $6,800
    • Summer program — $5,200
      • Interns will be expected to pay for their own housing, food, and transportation during their participation in the BroadFutures program.
    • BroadFutures has a strong commitment to Financial Aid. Admission decisions are need blind and scholarships can be provided if necessary.

    • Refund policy: 
      • A deposit equal to 1/2 of the program fee is due within 30 days of acceptance and is non-refundable. The remaining tuition is refundable for medical reasons within the first three weeks of the program, on a pro rata basis.
