We are now in the middle of our Summer 2015 program, and the interns are continuing to thrive in their internships! They have been successful transferring their skills learned in training to the workplace and are excelling both at the office and in the BroadFutures Friday Training sessions. They are growing into truly fantastic employees!
We remain grateful for the support and talents of our fabulous coach, Laurie Thomas, and mentors, Lawrence Cooper, Lindsay Kagin and Julia Marrone for ensuring our interns reach their potential as well as drama instructor, Nicolette Stearns of Artstream, Inc. and Yoga Instructor Dhyana Delatour, who enliven and enrich our Friday training sessions. We were incredibly excited and honored to have guest speaker, Kia Silver Hodge of Lockheed Martin come speak with our interns. She is such an inspirational speaker and great supporter of our mission. Finally, we had our first Alumni Event with an afternoon of bowling at Pinstripes in Georgetown. It was a great time!
Our employer partners have been outstanding assets to our summer program. They embrace our mission both in spirit and deed and continue to work diligently with our interns to ensure productive and meaningful work experiences. We are very grateful to Access Partnership (www.accesspartnership.com), AES Corporation (www.aes.com), American Psychological Association (APA) (www.apa.org), Association of University Centers on Disabilities (www.aucd.org), Griffin & Co (www.griffinco.com), Marshall Moya Design (www.marshallmoya.com), and Universal Service Administration Company (www.usac.org) for their continued support and commitment to a diversified workforce!
