BroadFutures Promotional Videos
We are excited to share our new videos with you! Watch below to learn more about our internship programs, and hear from our employer partners about the benefits of hosting a BroadFutures intern. We are working on an intern testimonial video and will be sending it out very soon!!
This month, we are excited to shine the spotlight on Summer 2018 intern Devynn Johnson. Devynn interned at World Learning, a thriving international nonprofit organization that has worked to create a more peaceful, sustainable, and just world for over 85 years.
As an intern at World Learning, Devynn
conducted research, compiled data, completed administrative tasks, and created a final presentation summarizing her research. Devynn is currently finishing her first semester at Delaware State University.
Devynn had this to say about her time as a BroadFutures intern at World Learning:
"BroadFutures... helps and supports youth to become work-ready adults. As a work ready adult, youth learn the work environment that they may or may not like and how to deal with those environments... To be better one must do better, to do better one must know their own faults and BroadFutures not only shows you how to be better but also how to do better based on strengths instead of weaknesses."
Thanks for sharing these thoughts, Devynn, and good luck with your next semester!
Employer Spotlight -
The U.S. Small Business Administration
This month, we are featuring our employer partner, The U.S. Small Business Administration ("SBA"). The SBA makes the American dream of business ownership a reality. They empower entrepreneurs and small business owners with the resources and support they need to start and grow their businesses. The SBA is the only go-to resource and voice for small businesses that is backed by the strength of the federal government. The SBA delivers its services to people through an extensive network of field offices and partnerships with public and private organizations. To learn more about the SBA, visit www.sba.gov.
Intern, Daniel and Supervisor, Eric
Nina Levine, Deputy General Counsel of the SBA, had these thoughts to share when reflecting on partnering with BroadFutures:
"The U.S. Small Business Administration is pleased that it was able to partner with BroadFutures to host an intern in its Office of General Counsel. The internship was an opportunity for a young adult to experience work in a fast-paced government legal office, including interacting with friendly, dedicated government employees while working on an assortment of interesting issues. SBA benefited from the intern's contribution and from the behind-the-scenes support of BroadFutures in making the internship a success."
