October Recap:

Celebrating Awareness, Inclusion, and Opportunity

October has been an exciting month for BroadFutures! From welcoming a new team member and wrapping up Winter 2026 applications, to presenting at conferences and launching our new workshop series, our team has been hard at work advancing our mission.

We also joined the national celebrations of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), Learning Disabilities Awareness Month and ADHD and Dyslexia Awareness Months. As an Accredited Member of the Gap Year Association, BroadFutures participated in Gap Year Exploration Month, reinforcing our commitment to inclusion and experiential learning.

As we move into November and our Fall Gala celebration, we are inspired by the growing momentum and the incredible community that makes it all possible.

Introducing our Fall Workshop Series

BroadFutures has launched a free virtual workshop series designed to help young neurodivergent people build essential workplace readiness skills.

Each one-hour session focuses on a key professional development topic, from creating a strong LinkedIn profile on November 5 (next Wednesday!), to preparing for resumes and interviews on November 20 and crafting a compelling personal pitch on December 3.

These workshops are open to youth nationwide and reflect our ongoing commitment to expanding access to professional development opportunities for neurodivergent young people. Follow the link or click the button below to register.

Meet Our Gala Emcee!

We are thrilled to announce that Craig Leen will serve as the Emcee for our Fall Gala!

Craig is a longtime workplace disability advocate and partner at K&L Gates, where he co-leads the firm Affirmative Action Compliance area. He formerly served as Director of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) at the U.S. Department of Labor, leading efforts to advance equal employment opportunity for people with disabilities nationwide.

Craig’s commitment to inclusion and accessibility perfectly reflects our Gala theme, A Renewed Vision. A Bold New Future., and we are honored to have him guide us through this special evening of celebration and community.

Live from New York and Baltimore!

BroadFutures was honored to be recognized this month at The NCTA Education Foundation’s annual Kaitz Event in New York City, where we were named a ChangeMaker: One to Watch. Our CEO Carolyn Jeppsen attended alongside co-founder Brad Holmes, joining other leaders committed to advancing equity and opportunity. We are grateful to The NCTA Education Foundation for this recognition and for celebrating our mission to create a more inclusive future for neurodivergent talent.

On October 22-24 BroadFutures was equally honored to participate in the Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Tapping Into Talent Conference. Our CEO Carolyn Jeppsen and Executive Vice President Laurie Thomas presented “Shattering Stereotypes: Empowering Neurodivergent Success in Diverse Career Paths.” Their session shared insights gained from over 11 years of working with neurodivergent early career talent, highlighting that neurodivergent individuals, just like neurotypical talent, have diverse interests and skills across many industries—not only STEM fields.

We are proud to contribute to this national dialogue and to share the strength of our model with others.

Welcome, Julia!

We are thrilled to welcome Julia Moluf, MNLM as our new Program Manager! Julia came to BroadFutures in September from Best Buddies, and brings a deep passion for and experience in empowering young people with disabilities. In her role, she supports our internship program, training curriculum, and ongoing participant development. Prior to BroadFutures, Julia worked for Best Buddies International as the Director of Best Buddies Living. She received her B.A. from San Diego State University in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences and her M.A. from Arizona State University in Nonprofit Leadership and Management.

Hear from Julia herself!

“My name is Julia and I'm excited to join the BroadFutures team! I have been volunteering in the disability space for many years, but have been working it in professionally for five. I joined BroadFutures because I'm passionate about helping young, neurodiverse people make the transition into adulthood. In my free time, I love crafting, hanging out with my cat or exploring new coffee shops.

We are so excited to have Julia on board and look forward to the energy and perspective she brings to our growing team!

Employer Spotlight

This month, we are excited to spotlight Concord Hospitality, who has been a strong and  longtime supporter and employer partner. Concord Hospitality is a leading hotel management company, operating hotels and properties across North America, with several located in DC.

Dual Director of Human Resources Meili Liu hosted a BroadFutures intern this summer and shared:

“Concord Hospitality has had an incredible experience partnering with BroadFutures over the past few years. All of our matched interns have been phenomenal—gaining hands-on exposure to the hospitality industry while bringing fresh perspectives to our team. Collaborating with BroadFutures has also allowed us to enhance diversity within our workforce. We’re proud to share our passion for hospitality and look forward to continuing this meaningful partnership!”

Thank you to Meili and the Concord Hospitality team for their dedicated support of neurodivergent young professionals!
