Our Winter 2026 Program is in Full Swing! |
Training Week for our Winter 2026 Internship Program is officially complete! We were excited to welcome a talented group of young people to our 22nd internship cohort. Although a weekend snowstorm meant we kicked off the week virtually, the energy, engagement, and enthusiasm of our interns remained strong throughout.
Over the week, interns engaged in an interactive professional career preparation curriculum. We explored topics including disclosure and accommodations, professional communication (verbal and non-verbal), self-advocacy, executive functioning, crafting personal pitches and more. Our training Week also featured panels with neurodivergent self-advocates and BroadFutures alumni, who shared valuable insights drawn from their lived experience. The week concluded with interns presenting their personal pitches to their peers and BroadFutures staff.
We are grateful to our speakers, partners, and alumni who helped make Training Week meaningful, and we are excited to see this cohort carry these skills into their internship experiences.
Let’s wish this cohort luck as they start at their internship placements on Monday! |

| | Thank You to Our Winter Employer Partners |
BroadFutures is grateful to the 13 employers partnering with us for our Winter 2026 Internship Program! We are grateful to our loyal recurring partners and we welcome our four new hosts: Amore Learning, DC Peers, McClendon Center, and Foggy Bottom West End Main Street.
Our employer partners span a wide range of industries, from technology and hospitality to the arts and politics. They are providing meaningful, paid internship experiences where young people can learn and grow in real workplace settings. We are proud to work in partnership with these amazing employers to support and promote neuroinclusive workplaces. Thanks to all of you!!!! |
| | | We are excited to welcome new members to the BroadFutures community. We are joined by two new team members and two new board members who bring a wide range of experience, perspective, and passion for our mission. We are grateful to have them alongside us as we continue to grow our programs and impact. |

| Sam Blum serves as our new Program Administrator, where he supports DC interns throughout their internship and ensures they have successful, educational, and enjoyable experiences. Before joining BroadFutures, Sam was the Assistant Director at URJ Camp Harlam, where he developed engaging programs and trained teenagers and young adults in professional skills and leadership.
Why BroadFutures: “Throughout my career, I have always found working with young people to be incredibly gratifying. I am so excited for the opportunity to work with our interns, helping them set goals, learn new things, and find whatever success looks like for them as individuals. I can't wait to dive into this amazing work!” |

| Zoe Belkaid-Whalen (a BroadFutures alum!) joins us as an Operations Assistant, helping to refresh our data systems and streamline our digital processes. Before joining the BroadFutures team, she worked at The Washington Chorus, The Office of Senator Van Hollen, and Brick by Brick in Uganda.
Why BroadFutures: “I joined BroadFutures because I believe in the program and the good it does for people. As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I understand the struggles our participants go through in adjusting to the workplace; so I’m excited to do my part in helping them grow and thrive!” |

| Sean Hudson recently joined our Board of Directors. Sean has had an impressive career as a senior executive, with more than 25 years of experience driving business strategy, commercialization, and digital transformation at leading healthcare organizations, including Johnson & Johnson, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Pfizer.
As the Vice-Chair of our Strategic Funding Committee, he uses his business expertise to help guide long-term growth, strengthen our funding strategy, and support BroadFutures’ sustainability and impact.
Why BroadFutures: “I’m excited to join BroadFutures because its mission reflects my professional values and personal journey. As the parent of a neurodivergent son, I know how transformative it is when a young person is truly seen for their strengths, not for their challenges.
BroadFutures creates access to opportunity in practical and impactful ways. It opens doors and builds bridges to purpose, confidence, and meaningful, sustainable employment.
I believe that people who learn differently deserve pathways to work that honor how they think, create, and contribute. I am “all in” on my support of BroadFutures and the talented, deserving young people it serves.” |
