| Celebrating the Completion of ourWinter 2026 Internship Program |
|
|
| This month, we celebrated the conclusion of our Winter 2026 Internship Program, graduating 16 outstanding young people who demonstrated incredible growth — both individually through our training and internships, and collectively as a cohort. Throughout the program, they built practical career readiness skills, gained meaningful real-world experience, and strengthened their confidence in the workplace.
At our Final Celebration, interns shared thoughtful presentations reflecting on their journeys, accomplishments, and what they learned during their time at BroadFutures. We also recognized our outstanding employer partners for their support of our interns, commitment to our mission, and leadership in championing neuroinclusive workplaces.
We are deeply grateful to them for making these internship experiences possible. It was a powerful way to mark the end of the program, surrounded by family, friends, internship supervisors, and colleagues. |

| Meet Xander, a BroadFutures Winter 2026 intern at Foggy Bottom West End Main Street!
At FBWE, Xander helps distribute DC government grants to small businesses, supporting things like renovations, marketing, and community events.
During Training Week, he built a strong foundation in professionalism— showing up on time, staying engaged, and giving his best effort. He has brought that mindset into his internship and continues to apply it every day.
One key takeaway: do not be afraid to ask questions. Xander has learned it is always better to seek clarity than to move forward without direction.
Congrats on a great internship, Xander!

| This Autism Acceptance Month, we are proud to spotlight an organization doing incredible work in the disability inclusion space: Association of University Centers on Disabilities! AUCD is a national network of interdisciplinary centers working to advance policy, research, and inclusive practices for people with disabilities and their communities.
Public Health and Disability Fellow Andrew Cope shares,
"As an organization whose mission is to promote the health and wellbeing of individuals with disabilities, we couldn't have asked for a better program to partner with! Our BroadFutures interns Megan and Jonathan were terrific additions to our team who made lasting impacts."
Thank you, Andrew and AUCD, for your incredible work fighting for disability rights!

| Meet Sofie Jarrett, one of our incredible BroadFutures alumni from our Summer 2025 cohort, where she interned with DCTV.
Sofie is from Montgomery County, Maryland and is currently pursuing her BFA at Maryland Institute College of Art, where she is majoring in Ecosystems, Sustainability, & Justice and minoring in photography.
One of her biggest takeaways from BroadFutures was learning to navigate communication in a professional setting. Her advice for current interns is to not be afraid to ask for help, learn what works best for you, and to always remember to give yourself grace.
Sofie’s journey is a powerful reminder that impact does not end when a program does. |
