Frequently asked questions
Where do participants stay?
We do not provide housing but have informal partnerships with local housing providers. Participants who live in the DC metropolitan area often live at home, but not always. Many of our participants stay at local universities like GWU and AU. Additional housing options are available here. Families pay housing providers directly, except for The Washington Center. Most housing is accessible by public transportation.
Can participants apply to a Success Summit AND to an internship program?
TBD
Can participants receive college credit?
TBD
What if participants need to miss a day?
Absences are limited to emergencies or illness. Participants must promptly notify BroadFutures staff if they will be absent or late.
Do you have social events and do you provide weekend support?
Success Summits include mandatory in-person social events, ranging from going bowling to touring the National Mall. A calendar of activities will be provided at the start of the program. We expect our participants to be independent outside of training. While we do not provide direct weekend support, our staff can help interns schedule activities for the weekend if they require that support.
