| What a summer! Our DC Summer Internship Program officially wrapped up earlier this month after eight weeks of learning, growth, and hands-on professional experience. Our interns worked across a wide range of industries and organizations throughout the DC area, while coming together each Friday for professional development, coaching, and community. We closed out the program with Final Presentations, where interns shared what they accomplished, learned, and will carry with them into their next steps. |

| | Our National Internship Program is wrapping up an exciting summer as well! Three BroadFutures interns completed internships with Merck this month, gaining experience in machine learning engineering in Rahway, New Jersey; cytometric profiling in San Francisco, California; and quality assurance in West Point, Pennsylvania.
Meanwhile, seven World Bank Group interns are completing internships across teams focused on budget and procurement, finance, sustainability, disability inclusion, and HR systems automation. In these roles, interns contributed to projects involving data extraction and analysis, developing AI solutions, creating dashboards and visualizations, and preparing presentations and reports.
We are grateful to our employer partners and supervisors for providing meaningful opportunities for our interns to learn, contribute, and grow! |

| Summer internships may be over, but our Programs Team is staying busy! This fall, BroadFutures is bringing our neurodivergent-centered curriculum to schools, colleges, youth organizations, and neurodiversity programs through in-person and virtual workshops.
We kicked off our fall workshop season this month with a virtual Accommodations and Disclosure Workshop for the RIT Spectrum Support Program, helping students explore how to navigate disability disclosure, identify workplace accommodations, and advocate for what they need to succeed. |

January 2027 Success Summit January 12 - 15, 2027 Our immersive Career Accelerator experience brings neurodivergent young people together for an intensive weekend focused on career readiness, professional development, and community. Applications due December 1, 2026
Summer 2027 DC Internship Program June 7 - August 6, 2027 Spend the summer in Washington, DC building professional skills through a paid internship, weekly training, coaching, and mentorship. Applications due March 5, 2027

| Meet Dhruv, a BroadFutures National Program intern at Merck’s San Francisco site!
As a Cytometric Profiling Intern, Dhruv looked into analyzing healthy and diseased human blood and tissues to identify potential biomarkers for Merck's drug discovery pipeline. Through his work, he gained hands-on experience with cytometric profiling, cell staining, and other laboratory techniques.
Beyond technical skills, working with his BroadFutures mentor also taught him how to network, ask for coffee chats, and follow up with professional contacts.
Congrats on a great internship, Dhruv! Keep making waves. |

| This month, we are excited to spotlight a longstanding BroadFutures employer partner: Southwest Business Improvement District! SWBID is a community organization helping neighbors and business owners of Southwest DC collectively plan, fund, and implement improvements to their community.

| Meet Gwei, a BroadFutures alum from our Summer 2022 cohort, where she interned with the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers.
Originally from China and adopted to the United States, Gwei now lives in Washington state. Looking back on her time at BroadFutures, she especially values the experience of working with her employer, receiving mentorship both on the job and through BroadFutures, and strengthening her communication and self-advocacy skills.
Since BroadFutures, Gwei has continued making an impact in her community, recently completing two years of service with AmeriCorps as a literacy tutor at a local elementary school.
Her advice for other neurodivergent young people? “Understand who you are as a person so you can get your work done efficiently and on time, while still being yourself.”
From a BroadFutures internship to two years of national service, Gwei continues to carry those skills forward into her work and community.
