Wrapping Up Our Summer 2025 Internship Programs

This August, we celebrated the conclusion of both our DC and National Internship Programs.

Our DC Program brought together 22 interns and 20 employer partners across the DMV, representing a broad range of industries from finance to hospitality and the arts. On August 8th, interns, families, employers, and community members gathered for our DC Program Intern Presentations & Employer Recognition Ceremony where we recognized the interns’ hard work and growth over the past two months and formally recognized the invaluable contributions of our employer partners.

Meanwhile, our National Program brought together a group of five interns at Merck, where they gained firsthand experience in Vaccine Manufacturing and Quality Assurance. We are thrilled to share that three of the interns have been offered extended employment opportunities with Merck beyond the summer.

We are so grateful to all of our employers or their partnership and support, and we cannot wait to see where our interns go next!

BroadFutures’ Upcoming Gala: A Renewed Vision. A Bold New Future.

We are excited about our Fall Gala on November 22 where we will celebrate the incredible community that makes our work possible. We invite you to join us as a sponsor, helping to ensure that neurodivergent young people have access to the opportunities. Employer Spotlight

We are excited to feature Compass Pro Bono in this month’s Employer Spotlight! A nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the capacity and effectiveness of other nonprofits, Compass connects local organizations with pro bono strategic consulting services that help deepen impact and build long-term sustainability. BroadFutures is especially grateful to Compass for their guidance this year on our Strategic Alignment Project.

Operations Coordinator Jasmine Todd, who welcomed a BroadFutures intern onto her team, shared the following:

“We had a great experience working with our BroadFutures intern and we enjoyed having him on our team. He helped us with operations and data projects that contributed a great deal to our mission of serving our local communities. We were impressed with his dedication and skills. He was eager and ready to learn the aspects of nonprofit thought leadership, and we appreciate being a part of his career journey.”

Intern Spotlight

Meet Isaac, a BroadFutures Summer 2025 intern at Enterprise!

Over the summer, Isaac gained a deeper appreciation for the power of business relationships, learning how Enterprise partners with body shops, hotels, and other businesses to grow sales and strengthen outreach. Managing customers and overseeing the car fleet has also sharpened his time management and customer service skills.

Through BroadFutures trainings, Isaac built the confidence to communicate and advocate for himself in the workplace, sharing that:

“I always felt lost prior to BroadFutures on how to properly advocate for myself… but the sessions helped boost my confidence and break me out of my shell.”

He also underscored how meaningful it was to build a supportive intern community:
